WHAT we DO

Get you moving correctly, so you can leave your pain behind.

We think there's nothing worse than drawn-out recovery plans.
We know you want to feel better today, and we want the same.
We focus on quality, tried-and-true movement assessments + tactile feedback to lead us quickly to the right treatment course that will erase your pain and retrain proper movement in as little time as possible.

here's how:

Massage

Having been trained as massage therapists, this is often our primary intervention for any new client.
It allows us an opportunity to do our assessments while also providing valuable tactile feedback.

Rossiter

The next option in our toolbox, and perfectly used when massage has been helpful but the benefits aren't lasting. This work is as intense as you choose, and has proven to have profound results.

Corrective Exercise

The coup-de-gras for your pain and discomfort comes in the form of neurological retraining. We teach you the movements that will end your pain cycle, and how to do them correctly.

Massage

Manual palpation used to identify and treat muscle and fascial imbalances, in isolation.

While you may be familiar with the concept of massage, know that our application of it is anything but common. Our preference is to use this time-honored application in a rehabilitative sense: using corrective interventions in proper sequencing to get the most out of each treatment. For this reason, others consider us to be much closer to Physical Therapists than Massage Therapists (but we're not. And we love our Physical Therapist friends)!

The beauty of massage is that it lets us pinpoint exactly where your restriction is happening, down to the individual muscle fiber. Once we've found your restriction, we can then uncover why it's happening, and infer which modalities and interventions will begin restoring your body to its proper form and function.

our preferred modalities include neuromuscular, trigger point, lymphatic, and myofascial

Done to your level of comfort, we can work on a table, or in a massage chair

Rossiter

2-person assisted stretching used to release fascial restriction throughout the entire body.

This lesser-known technique is a unique, effective, and safe two-person stretching program that not only quickly alleviates decades-worth-of-pain, but can even prevent its occurrence. It's a combination of common connective tissue and soft-tissue modalities with the powerful addition of active client participation, and is used to increase mobility and reduce incidents of injury and pain from repetitive movements.

This is one of Cassandra's favorite secret weapons, and we have seen extraordinary results for people who were convinced pain was going to forever be part of their life. It's not for everyone, but for those who have experienced it- the praises are endless. This work can be much more intense than massage, so we don't typically recommend it as a first appointment for clients who are just beginning their healing journey. But to truly get you feeling better, we try our best to make sure its part of your overall plan.

sessions are shortened to prevent overstimulation of the nervous system

Work is done on the floor rather than a massage table

the focus is connective tissue restriction, rather than the muscles.

Corrective Exercise

Exercises used to retrain and solidify proper movement behavior

Going well beyond traditional weight training, Corrective Exercise aims to rewire your brain and retrain proper movement behaviors in order to relieve stress on your joints, and protect you from premature breakdown (or further breakdown if you're already dealing with an injury). The method and process may look very similar to working with a trainer at the gym, but rather than engaging muscles in isolation and evenly from side-to-side, we focus on improving muscle coordination and recruitment patterns, eliminating imbalances by working unilaterally (one-sided) rather than symmetrically (both sides equally), and addressing whole kinetic chains.

What does all of that mean? It means we figure out exactly why your body is struggling, give you the specific interventions you need to heal and correct those problems (and teach you exactly which side of your body needs them); we then spend each session with you to make sure you're doing them correctly. From head to toe, we teach you how to reset the whole movement system in a systematic, coordinated and more intricate way.

Multiple sessions are needed to become proficient, but the exact number varies for each person

Corrective exercise goes beyond traditional weight training, and is the foundation R.E.Train was built on: (R)elaxation and (E)ngagement (Train)ing

This may be THE MOST CRUCIAL PIECE TO THE RECOVERY PUZZLE
